Evaluation of Advertisement Shoot.

Just like the blog before it, these are just a few hits and misses from this shoot

Misses:

  • I wish a had a little book of poses or if I had brought a tear sheet so I could get a wider variety of poses. The ones I've got are good but I feel as though I could have had more poses. Being more aware of how my model looks is something I need to play closer attention too.
  • Paying closer attention to little things in the make up that need adjusting during the shoot. Looking at my photos a few days later I realise that the lipstick isn't even on the cupids bow. I'm a little ashamed that I didn't notice this during my shoot.

  • I don't have to shoot my model so close to the colorama. I need to play attention to how the shadows are cast on it. Moving them away from the background makes SUCH a difference.

Hits:

  •  The Canon 1000D. I adore this. It makes the skin look beautiful. After using the 700D and 1000D I don't want to go back to using a 550D. The photos still look good, but there's such a crispness with the other 2 cameras. New favourites.
  •  I was really nervous about the whole concept of this shoot. It was the one I felt the most uncomfortable doing. Until she put on the dress and then she just seemed to ooze class. Which is what I needed.
  • I tried being less stressed. This worked a right treat. It meant my model didn't seem so on edge which meant she didn't feel under pressure.
  • A short shoot! This makes me really happy. At first I was dreading not having a lot of time. If anything, it made me focus more on making each frame count as opposed to snapping away  200+ pictures and hoping that I got at least 20 good ones.
  • My photos! There's more good than bad! It means I had more of a challenge picking the one I was going to use.
