Givenchy Perfume Ads.

Well, we can see that there is a clear theme throughout their perfume campaigns. They all seem to be shot landscape which is something I find interesting because most brands advertise on an A4 portrait page.

Then it hits me. These ads are designed for 2 page spreads in Vogues, Elle and the other magazines that have about 10 pages of ads before there is any content. As I've got older, I've learnt to love these ads though. Even though it's for a perfume you want to be that girl. Unless it's a Britney Spears perfume ad, trust I'm I've come close to going full Britney and shaving my head because of these blogs. And nooooobody wants that.

Perfume advertisements that ooze editorial. You want to be her, you want that sexy man that draped over her and for a short while you'll believe that when you whack on some Marc Jacobs 'Daisy' Or is that just me?

There is an innocence to these models. The typical 'clean' look, big eyes and oozing sophistication. There is a limited colour palette which falls in line with the colour of the perfume so it seems. I love the newer ads with Amanda Seyfried, it's nice to see Givenchy looking at younger models.

The make up is quite plain, but it radiates youthfulness. The lighting for these photos is lovely. It gives that clean, flawless skin and makes the skin look illuminated. Even the slight moodier image that is for Givenchy 'Ange ou Démon' Her skin still looks beautiful.

There is definitely a theme of 'Less is more'
